The oral cavity as a biotope

The oral cavity as a biotope

In the oral cavity there is a great number of bacteria that lead to bad odours caused when food particles left between the teeth begin to decompose and give off bad gases. The particles are normally rinsed away by saliva which is responsible for the natural cleansing and protection of the oral cavity.

If the flow of saliva is reduced, bacteria can multiply without hindrance. While we sleep less saliva is produced. Food particles collect easily due to lack of oral hygiene, tooth decay, badly cleaned dentures and bridges. A bad breath can also be a sign of inflammation in the oral cavity or the throat (gums, tonsils and sinuses). You should have these indications examined and treated by a doctor.

What can you do about it?

- Pay particular attention to thorough oral hygiene (teeth, gaps, tongue)
- Go to the dentist regularly
- Treat the causes of inflammations
- Drink plenty, chew sugar-free chewing-gum or suck sweets
  (activates the flow of saliva)
- In addition Stozzon Chlorophyll Dragees (fresh NATURA)
made with natural chlorophyll can help to prevent a bad breath
